Wills & Co Answers Funding Gap For Smaller Companies

Wills & Co has just concluded an online opinion survey about smaller quoted companies and their need for funding, with some interesting findings.

For example, nearly all the companies who responded have a regular need to raise new funds, most of them in sums of more than £1 million at a time.

OVERNIGHT NEWS:
US equity markets posted gains yesterday as prices bounced back from the previous day's sharp losses. However, volumes were subdued as investors remained concerned about stubbornly high commodity prices as well as over the state of the financial sector. Sentiment was helped to a certain extent by solid sales numbers from the world's largest retailer, Wal-Mart, as well as from a better-than-expected weekly jobless claims number.
Over in Asia record crude oil prices weighed on stocks and the Hang Seng ran into some selling pressure ahead of a long bank holiday weekend.
Crude has just traded a new record high of $124.70 a barrel.
